Nathalie Emmanuel (born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England) is an English actor. Most famously, she is Missandei from the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England with a father from Saint Lucian and English descent and the mother was with Dominican of Dominican descent. Nathalie states that her mom was the first person to inspire her desire for a career acting. In the West End, she was selected to portray Young Nala after she reached 10 years old. In 2006, she made her TV debut by playing as Sasha Valentine in the teen soap-opera Hollyoaks (1995). Emmanuel was the main Hollyoaks character until in 2010. Her character had stories about prostitution and heroin addiction. Nathalie was the presenter of The Websex show on BBC Three: what's the danger?, a show that examined internet-based sexual behaviours of UK teens aged between 16 and 24. She made her debut as an actress on film in the drama Twenty8 later that year. In 2011, she appeared as Missandei in HBO's fantasy-drama series Game of Thrones. In Game of Thrones, Emmanuel's character Thrones was made a regular role in the year 2015. She was also Harriet an alien-like character from Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. FHM magazine named Emmanuel 99th on their list of the 100 Sexiest Women in 2013. In 2015, she was featured in the April editions of InStyle and GQ magazines.
